Shame is a Funny Thing

Shame is a Funny Thing · 1:1

Surreal giant pink rose held together with bandages and a row of metal staples, dripping pink, with teal berries, rosebuds and thorny stems on a teal background. Signed Magpie.

No figure. No face. Just a single pink rose held together with a tiny bandage stitched in teal thread, dripping, bruised, still blooming. Rose hips and buds crowd in around it, thorns and all. A dark botanical fantasy where the wound is the subject and the petals are what's keeping it standing. Hyper-real and surreal at once, pink and teal against deep shadow, dripping and tender and strange.

Made from a poem.
