A freckled girl with enormous green eyes peers through an empty gilded frame she holds up to her own face, a single fat tear sliding down her cheek. Bubbles and droplets drift past as if the whole scene is underwater. Black and teal hair, a huge striped pink bow, tiny paintings on every fingernail, a rosy nose that lands somewhere between doll and sad clown. The poem behind her is about diving under calm water for a treasured world buried long ago. She has found the frame down there and is holding it up to her own face, not sure yet that you will look.
